Artists in the gig economy are taking a hit. Right now, many of the ways that artists make their money—concerts, art fairs, readings—are getting canceled. Crosshatch has developed an artist relief fund to help cover expenses for artists in the 5-county area who have seen their income impacted by coronavirus.

Maine Artist Relief Fund

The Maine Artist Relief Fund will award grants of $500 to individual artists who live in Maine and whose creative practices and incomes are being adversely impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19). With events of all types being cancelled to reduce the spread of COVID-19, people who make income partially or fully through artist gigs, exhibits, events and freelance work are losing critical opportunities to support their well-being in our state.

CULTURAL RELIEF FUND: INDIVIDUALS

One-time grants of up to $2,000 are available for King County, WA cultural workers experiencing emergencies related to the COVID-19 virus and to support their creative responses in this time of crisis. The first round of funding will be available through June 15. Apply at any time within that time frame.
