Mutual aid is the voluntary exchange of services and resources for mutual benefit. With music shows and other events being cancelled at a large scale as a response to COVID-19, we understand the astounding affect this has on the livelihood of independent artists – from musicians and DJs to graphic designers and photographers. Combating COVID-19 requires a cross community and collective effort. This form’s purpose is to collect information and build a directory of independent artists (YOU) to showcase your work. We will then put out a call to action to the larger community to support your work during this time of unstable employment/limited opportunities.
The Fund helps eligible bluegrass professionals who are currently or have previously been significantly involved in the industry. This includes, but is not limited to, artists, composers, broadcasters, media representatives, event producers, agents, educators, managers, and employees of record companies. You do not have to be a member of the IBMA to receive aid from the IBMA Trust Fund. Please refer to the application form for more information on eligibility.
For crew members impacted by tour cancellations due to COVID-19. New applications open the week of May 18th for those who were impacted by shows scheduled to take place in May or June of 2020.
Music workers in need of financial help during the crisis can apply for assistance at this volunteer-run website, which was set up to facilitate peer-to-peer giving. Applications are reviewed and posted within 24 hours, and 100% of all donations go directly to the affected person. Musicians are also urged to list their virtual concerts on the site.
